Le litografie del Bisonte Firenze 1960

Opening December 8th, 2020 at 5:00 pm
The Exhibition
Between August and September 1960, Mattia Moreni executed in Florence for the Edizioni d'Arte il Bisonte the precious folder of six lithographs drawn in a hundred copies, coming from the Ghigi-Pagnani collection and today for the first time fully exhibited at the Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery in Ravenna, in the exhibition curated by Luca Maggio and Roberto Pagnani.
On the introductory print page, the following italics appear: “Poco per volta ridiventeranno paesaggi uomini nuvole od altro…” Mattia Moreni, Firenze settembre 1960 ("Little by little, landscapes will become men, clouds or other things ..." Mattia Moreni, Florence September 1960). As if the artist, one of the world's leading exponents of the informal season, wanted to give indications to decipher his primordial sign gestures by using a poetic writing, apparently disordered, really communicating the ferocious force of nature, returned by Moreni with tireless energy throughout his life: not surprisingly, the great art historian Francesco Arcangeli included Mattia Moreni among the so-called "last naturalists" together with Morlotti, Vacchi, Romiti, Bendini and Mandelli.
A numbered leaflet with a critical text by Luca Maggio will be available on display.
