The Exhibition
creative path undertaken by the artist over a period of more than 40 years of activity. The figure is at the center in its evolution according to an investigation that involves the spatial order, the formal balances and the visual effects rendered by chromatic combinations, even dissonant ones. From the expressionistic naturalism of his beginning he arrives at a formal synthesis tending towards essentiality which reduces images to apparitions immersed in color.
The figurative data resolves itself into the figural, the descriptive aspect is canceled out in the emotional component of the color to testify to the vitality of painting and its evocative power which lends itself to possible readings and interpretations.
The Artist
Onorio Bravi was born in Forlì in 1955. He currently lives and works in Ravenna. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Ravenna in Painting. Since the 1980s, for a long period he has been responsible for the projects and scenography of allegorical floats, receiving numerous bonuses and awards. His graphic works are preserved in the Repertoire of Italian Engravers of the Cabinet of Ancient and Modern Prints "Le Cappuccine" in Bagnacavallo (RA) and at the National Library of Madrid, Ministry of Education and Culture. Invited to the XXVIII edition of the Biennial of the Painted Wall in Dozza (BO). He has exhibited, upon invitation, in numerous personal exhibitions, one of the most important at the Italian Cultural Institute in Athens, within the Tempo Forte project "Italy-Greece 2019". Particularly significant for his education was the period spent in Algeria in the first half of the Eighties, for those traces of "Ethnic" flavor and for the mixes of the Mediterranean basin, a period that leaves a profound trace in the atmospheres of his works. His works are present in public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
