The Exhibition
Veronica Burlando's solo exhibition “Bankine” focuses on the serial project of the objects encountered between the street and the footway, the sidewalks. Born in 2015 with iPhone, in the following years various subjects were always photographed with the same support, respecting the seriality that she wanted to impress.
Visit, investigate, reside. Albeit for brief moments, a place is an essential part of the creative elaboration, the bare cast of an idea which contours are lacking. This is what the shot is for: to delude ourselves that the technological code applied to the gaze can give order to the magmatic spectacle of reality.
Veronica Burlando makes her move pointing the compass of the gaze in search of her cardinal points, genetic traits scattered on the pavement, pushed - thanks to a peculiar framing - to the deepest level of any possible feeling.
The Artist
Born in Ravenna in 1988, Veronica Burlando after her linguistic diploma moved to Bologna and graduated with a master's degree in Cinema and Multimedia Production. She builds her working career covering both technical and authorial roles in independent cinematography and is working as a photographer for events, reports, shootings, shows.
After a Masters in Fashion Portraits she currently deals with the management of digital images for some online fashion sites of Yoox Nèt à Porter where she guarantees the photographic quality and she works as a freelance in the photo and video field.
Photography beyond the workplace is a personal research, a beautiful way of observing the world through its geometry and above all a vital urgency where the camera has become her life partner.
