The Exhibition
61 years after his first solo show, which was organized for him by the patron and collector Roberto Pagnani (1914-1965) together with the art historian Alberto Martini (1931-1965) in Ravenna in 1962, the art of Daniel Pommereulle returns to the exhibition.
Pommereulle was a multifaceted figure and son of his time for his courage in investigating through art what he called "inner breathing" In addition to the visual arts, he has been an actor for important directors such as Eric Rohmer, François Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard.
Those were the years of the Beat Generation, the years of the birth of the most rebellious rock; artistic expressions experienced the use of drugs as a moment of research. All the assumptions that would then lead to the youth revolution of 1968.
Roberto Pagnani and Daniel Pommereulle met in Venice in 1961. The patron was fascinated by the young artist's courage, so much so that he proposed organizing his first solo exhibition, guaranteeing him his support. He also undertook to purchase most of the works on display, some of which are now re-presented at the Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery exhibition space.
