R.R. (Marco Campana)

-Omonima-

June 19 - July 5, 2020

Opening June 18th from 18:00 to 21:00

The Exhibition

The paintings displayed at the Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery are from 2019 and 2020. They are made using teams that swipe the color rising to shapes that will then be surrounded by the fillings, using a brush, by the acrylics. The artist also uses frame "skeletons". Saw the sections that will later guide, along with removable paper adhesive tape, to the lines of the compositions. The colors are strong and without shadows, full and non-transparent. There is control of the form which must never be absolute as the color generates unexpected surprises, often not meditated by the author and, as R.R. points out, "... in the end the result is half mine and half the painting ...".

The Works

The Artist

Pallavicini 22 Art Gallery will host the first exhibition of the young Marco Campana, aka R.R., entitled -Omonima-. R.R. is a very young boy born in 2002 who attends the ITIS (State Industrial Technical Institute – Informatic Technology) of Ravenna. Extremely interesting was his first encounter with abstract contemporary art in front of a work by Lucio Fontana (Spatial Concept, 1960) because he was immediately fascinated by an extremely difficult genre, not consoling and apparently simple to understand, such as figurative painting , during a visit to the Mart of Trento and Rovereto. R.R., after this first meeting with Fontana, begins to feel an instinctive fascination with painting and the need to create something personal. In 2018 he began to work on plastic materials by "rubbing" acrylic colors on them. In 2019 he began to use canvases, developing regular geometric shapes in a very interesting way in dialogue with freer drafts of color. Thus a sort of magical fusion between rational and irrational in its representations occurs and, in some ways, it even reaches the point of Analytical Art.
